How This Tool Works

Rather than relying on a flat color or green-screen trick, this tool runs an actual image segmentation model — the kind of AI used in professional photo-editing software — directly in your browser using WebAssembly. The first time you use it, your browser downloads a small version of that model; after that it's cached, so later uses are quicker. Because the model runs locally, it works on ordinary photos with normal, cluttered backgrounds, not just images shot against a single flat color.
