Barcode Generator

Generate standard barcodes for products and labels.

Runs entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded

Generated in your browser with JsBarcode, an open-source library loaded from cdnjs. Each format has its own rules — EAN-13 needs digits only, for example — and any mismatch is flagged above instead of producing an unscannable code.

Generate Barcodes Online — Free Barcode Maker

Create a barcode for a product, a label, or an inventory tag and download it as a PNG image. Type your value, pick a format, and the barcode appears instantly, ready to print or drop into a design.

How to Make a Barcode

Enter the barcode value, choose a format, and pick a bar height — short, medium, or tall. Tick or untick the option to show the value in text under the bars, then click Download PNG. The image is saved with a white background so it prints and scans cleanly.

Which Format Should You Choose?

CODE128 is the flexible all-rounder and accepts any text, which makes it the best choice for inventory tags, order numbers, and internal labels. EAN-13 and UPC-A are the retail product standards — EAN-13 in most of the world and UPC-A in North America — and EAN-8 is a shorter version for small packages. ITF-14 is used for cartons and shipping cases, while CODE39, MSI, and Pharmacode cover older or specialised uses such as simple labels, warehouse shelves, and pharmaceutical packaging.

Each format has its own rules, and the tool checks your value against them. If you enter 12 digits for EAN-13, the check digit is worked out for you; if you enter all 13, the last digit has to be correct. A value that doesn't fit the chosen format is flagged with a message instead of producing a barcode that wouldn't scan. Note that a generated EAN or UPC is only an image of a number — to sell products through retailers you need numbers issued to your business, which come from GS1. Always test-scan a printed barcode before you produce a large batch.

Good Uses for This Tool

Labelling stock and equipment, adding a scannable order or ticket number to a document, making mock-ups and test data for a point-of-sale system, tagging files or shelves, and printing quick labels for a small shop or a school project.

Is It Actually Private?

Yes. Your barcode is drawn in your browser and the value you enter is never sent anywhere. The tool does download a small open-source barcode library from a public CDN the first time you use it, so it needs an internet connection at that point.
