How to Build Your Resume

Start with your name, job title, email, phone, location, and a website or LinkedIn address, then write a short professional summary. Click Add role for each job — with the job title, company, dates, and a description where each line is one achievement or responsibility — and Add education for each qualification. The layout is a simple, single-column design with clear section headings, which tends to be easy for both people and applicant tracking systems to read. It's a single template, so it doesn't include a photo or colour themes.

A few tips: keep it to one or two pages, tailor the summary and skills to each job you apply for, start each achievement with a strong action verb, and include numbers where you can — such as the size of a team or the percentage you improved something.
