Online Piano — Play a Virtual Keyboard Free

Play a virtual piano with your mouse, your touchscreen, or your computer keyboard — no download, no signup, and no plugin required. Everything runs in your browser.

How to Play

Click or tap any key to play it, or use your computer keyboard: the row Z through M, along with S, D, G, H, and J for the sharps and flats in between, plays the lowest octave shown. The row Q through U, with 2, 3, 5, 6, and 7, plays the octave above that. Hold Space, or click the sustain button, to let notes ring out after you release the key — like the sustain pedal on a real piano.

Choosing a Sound and Range

Pick from four sounds — Piano, Electric piano, Organ, or Synth — from the dropdown, and use "Octave -" and "Octave +" to shift which range of notes your keyboard controls. You can show one to four octaves at once, and switch key labels between note names (like C, D, E) and the computer key that plays each one, which is useful while you're still learning where things are mapped.

Common Uses

Quickly checking how a chord or melody sounds without opening a full music app, practicing note recognition, working out a simple tune by ear, or just playing around on a piano when you don't have one nearby.
