The Pomodoro Technique alternates focused work with short breaks, and a longer break after a few rounds. The time shows in your browser tab title, so you can keep an eye on it while you work in another tab. Your settings are saved on this device; nothing is sent anywhere.

Pomodoro Timer — A Free Focus Timer for Work and Study

Work in focused bursts with regular breaks. The Pomodoro Timer counts down your focus sessions and your short and long breaks, so you can concentrate on the task and let the timer keep track of time.

How to Use the Pomodoro Timer

The classic method — developed by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s — uses 25 minutes of focused work, then a 5-minute break, and after four rounds a longer 15-minute break. Press Start to begin a focus session. The ring shows how much time is left, and the title of your browser tab shows the countdown too, so you can check it while you work in another tab. Pause and resume whenever you need, use Reset to restart the current session, or Skip to jump to the next one — a skipped focus session doesn't count as completed. You can also switch modes yourself with the Focus, Short break, and Long break buttons, and the counter shows which session you're on and how many you've completed.

Settings

Open Timer settings to change the length of focus sessions (1 to 180 minutes), short breaks (1 to 60), and long breaks (1 to 120), and how many focus sessions come before a long break (2 to 10). You can turn on automatic starting of the next session, a sound when time is up, and a notification when a session ends — your browser will ask for permission the first time. Restore defaults returns everything to 25, 5, and 15 minutes with a long break every 4 sessions. Your settings are saved on your device, and the timer runs on the clock rather than counting ticks, so it stays accurate even if the tab is in the background. Keep the tab open, though, since closing it stops the timer.
