Roll one die or fifty, with as many sides as you like. Choose your dice, add a modifier, and get the total, every individual die, and a quick history of your rolls — ideal for tabletop games, homework probability, and settling a friendly bet.
How to Roll the Dice
Pick the number of sides — D4, D6, D8, D10, D12, D20, or D100 — or type a custom number from 2 to 1000. Set how many dice to roll (1 to 50) and, if you need one, a modifier between −1000 and +1000, then click Roll the dice. The total appears in large type, with each die shown below it and the sum written out, such as (3 + 5 + 6) + 2 = 16. Highest-possible faces are highlighted, and a single d20 rolling 20 or 1 gets a Natural 20 or Natural 1 callout. Your last 12 rolls are listed underneath, and you can clear them at any time.
Dice Notation and Dropping Dice
If you already know tabletop dice notation, type it into the roll box and press Enter: 2d6+3 rolls two six-sided dice and adds 3, and d20 rolls a single twenty-sided die. When you roll two or more dice you can drop the lowest or the highest one with the Which dice count menu, or by adding dl1 or dh1 to the notation. So 4d6dl1 rolls four dice and drops the lowest — the classic way to generate ability scores, which averages about 12.2. Rolling 2d20dl1 gives you the higher of two d20s (advantage), and 2d20dh1 gives the lower (disadvantage). Dropped dice are faded and crossed out so you can see what happened.
Every die is rolled using your device's secure random number generator, with every side equally likely — no die is ever weighted, and previous rolls have no influence on the next one. If you prefer reduced motion, the rolling animation is skipped automatically.
