Online Notepad

Online Notepad — Free, No Signup

A simple, distraction-free notepad that autosaves as you type — right in your browser, with nothing to install and no account to create.

How to Use the Notepad

Just start typing. Your text saves automatically to this browser a moment after you stop typing, and it'll still be there the next time you open this page on the same device. Use "Download as .txt" any time to save a copy to your computer, or "Clear Notepad" to start fresh.

Where Your Notes Actually Live

Notes are stored locally in this browser, on this device — not on a server, and not synced to any account. That's what makes it fast and private, but it also means the notes won't follow you to a different browser or device, and clearing your browser's site data will erase them. For anything you want to keep long-term, download it as a text file.

Good Uses for This Tool

Jotting down a quick thought without opening a full document editor, drafting a message before pasting it somewhere else, keeping a scratchpad open in a browser tab while you work, or writing something down when you don't want to create a file just yet.

Is It Actually Private?

Yes. Everything stays in your browser's local storage on your own device — nothing is ever sent to a server.
